Peter Diab and John Huxtable founded the Finance Department Limited in 1996 in direct response to the growing demand for companies to efficiently source the highest quality financially oriented business professionals. They realized the success of TFDL would depend upon the quality of the people they surrounded themselves with. To this end, they have always been determined to bring people into the organization who share their vision, goals and values. This hiring approach formed the basis for TFDL’s success and is at the heart of the firm’s strategy in providing solutions to our clients’ staffing requirements.






Peter Diab, C.A.
Managing Partner & Founder

Peter is a distinguished Chartered Accountant who obtained his Designation in 1992 while articling for PricewaterhouseCoopers (then Coopers and Lybrand). Peter has extensive offshore international experience working in Bermuda both within public practice accounting and serving as the Controller for Bermuda’s largest independent Internet Service Provider.

Peter has long been as a recognized staffing solutions visionary. He has been a key intellectual contributor to the development of several published candidate tracking and assessment software packages. His natural intelligence, insatiable curiosity, meticulous attention to detail, professional formation and industry experience provide him with invaluable insight and a unique ability to architect and manage the operational delivery of TFDL’s staffing solutions services. TFDL’s commitment to client success is absolute. Peter ensures that best practices and both the hard and soft science of fit assessment are rooted in the people, process and technology deployed by the company with one objective in mind – TFDL must have an unrivaled ability to consistently deliver results that clients, candidates and contractors value.






John M. Huxtable, C.A.
Managing Partner & Founder

John is an accomplished Chartered Accountant who obtained his designation in 1991 while articling for PricewaterhouseCoopers. After leaving public practice, he quickly established himself as a high performance professional leading significant business process re-engineering and activity based costing initiatives for a large Canadian multinational. As a passionate entrepreneur, he leveraged his diverse public practice and corporate experience to establish a thriving independent consulting practice that ultimately led to the creation of The Finance Department Limited.

As a successful entrepreneur and industrious professional, John brings leadership, passion and energy to the business. His astute financial management of TFDL ensures that the company has been and will continue to be robust and have the resources necessary to fulfill its mandate of meeting or exceeding client expectations.






Ron Goldson
Director, Executive Recruiting Solutions

Ron joined TFDL in August of 2003 on the strength of the founders’ vision for the company. His vast professional experience in the staffing field was acquired through more than 10 years as a recruiter, manager and owner/operator of his own recruiting firm. His experience is further enhanced by his academic background in Sociology and Human Resources Management. His belief in constantly updating his knowledge base ensures that he will remain at the forefront of the staffing industry. Ron is uniquely qualified to lead the team of TFDL consultants focused on servicing the needs of our clients to acquire, retain and develop permanent employees in positions ranging from Analyst to CFO.

Ron’s academic and professional experience reflect his abiding passion for the difference that TFDL, with its commitment to professionalism, accountability and placing the requirements of our clients and candidates above all, can make in the lives of the people we represent. Ron has played and will continue to play an instrumental role in the selection and development of TFDL’s executive recruiting solutions consultants. His passion for people and his commitment to the excellence in his chosen profession, make him an invaluable leader at TFDL.






Qasim Mahmood
Director, Contract Recruiting Solutions

Qasim leads TFDL’s Contract Recruiting Solutions Group. His business acumen and staffing solutions industry experience made him an obvious choice to manage a group of professionals dedicated to proving solutions to our clients’ short term, interim and contract staffing requirements. Prior to working in the staffing solutions industry, Qasim specialized in accounting and finance, working internationally in both staff and managerial capacities for such prestigious organizations as PricewaterhouseCoopers, Occidental Petroleum, Schlumberger and the United Nations. He also founded and led a management consulting firm specializing in an operations management and quality assurance consulting practice. Qasim understands business, its needs, its pace and its challenges and he uses this knowledge to serve the interests of TFDL’s clients.

Most recently Qasim comes to the Finance Department Limited from a recognized and large GTA-based firm specializing in the placement of contract accountants, where he was a lead recruiter. He joined TFDL in 2004. Qasim’s burning desire to improve and elevate the status, relevance and performance of the profession, his passion for the business and his singular commitment to the success of our clients (both current and prospective) is compelling and infectious. He has been and will continue to be a leader in the development of TFDL’s business practices and recruiting consultants that support the company’s desire to have an unrivaled ability in delivering results to the marketplace.
